Our Shelby American™ Collection is inspired by Carroll Shelby and his legacy of high performance vehicles.
One of the most iconic race cars of all time, the Shelby Daytona Coupe was an advanced evolution of the original Shelby Cobra. Designed to take on the Ferrari 250 GTO and the higher-speed racetracks of Europe, the Daytona Coupe featured an aerodynamic shape for greater efficiency and stability.
The Shelby Daytona Coupe was produced between 1964-65 and Chassis No. CSX2287 was the very first, and only prototype to be built by the Original Venice Crew at the Shelby American race shop in Venice, California.
In 1965, the Shelby Daytona Coupe, driven by the likes of Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant and Phil Hill, won the FIA World Sportscar GT class. This was the first time in history that an American manufacturer took on the world’s best and won.
The details tell the story
It's a fascinating process, the building of a garment. It starts with fabric, cut into pieces that passes through many hands, stitched thousands of times and scraped with ink.
But in the end, it becomes greater than all its parts. It tells a great story of design, craftsmanship and passion.
