Love for the Shelby Mustang GT 350 was deeply rooted on Valentine’s Day, 1965. An SCCA sanctioned race at Green Valley Raceway in Texas set the stage for the debut of the GT 350 Competition, also known as the GT 350R. This prototype Mustang was driven by none other than Ken Miles.

Ken won the race that day, proving the GT 350R’s track capability, but he also got the car airborne with all four wheels off the ground – earning the nickname ‘The Flying Mustang’. Rarity, pedigree and a famous driver have made this the most Valuable Mustang in history.

Armed with a 306-horsepower V-8, this modified version of the Mustang was a hit, dominating the Chevrolet Corvette and the sports car scene. With the help of talented drivers like Miles, Bob Bondurant, Chuck Cantwell, Peter Brock, Jerry Titus the GT 350R captured the SCCA B-Production Championship for three straight years.

The details tell a story

It's a fascinating process, the building of a garment. It starts with fabric, cut into pieces that passes through many hands, stitched thousands of times and scraped with ink.

But in the end, it becomes greater than all its parts. It tells a great story of design, craftsmanship and passion.

The chicken farmer

While tending to his chickens, Carroll Shelby's wife casually reminded him, "…don't you have a race to go to?".

Arriving late, with no time to change, he made his way straight to a first place finish – still wearing his hickory denim overalls. He made this 'fashion statement' his signature racing attire.

With a nod to his quirkiness, we've integrated the hickory striped pattern into the neck panel of this sweater.
