The Rival

Carroll Shelby forged a history building winners, and we continue that tradition. Custom tailored fit, perfect balance of weight and comfort. It's called the Legacy Tee for good reason. You're welcome.

Our Shelby American™ Collection is inspired by Carroll Shelby and his legacy of high performance vehicles.
Dave MacDonald met the strike of the new Shelby Cobra on the race track, October 13, 1962. Battling for the lead in his Corvette Stingray against Bill Krause in the new Cobra. Both cars did not finish, but Dave was impressed with the Cobra and Dave impressed Carroll Shelby.
MacDonald’s first job at Shelby American was to race prep Cobra CSX2026 for upcoming races at Riverside February 2-3. This 1963 Factory Team Cobra was built to full competition specifications with numerous special performance features like 48mm Weber Carburetors on a prototype intake manifold, and boasting 300 horsepower.
The Riverside races were a success for MacDonald, besting Ken Miles in a 1-2 finish for Shelby. Pinning the first ever win for a Shelby Cobra. It was only the third time that any Cobra had appeared on a race course, and catapulted CSX2026 to the 1963 SCCA A Production national championship.
The details tell a story
It's a fascinating process, the building of a garment. It starts with fabric, cut into pieces that passes through many hands, stitched thousands of times and scraped with ink.
But in the end, it becomes greater than all its parts. It tells a great story of design, craftsmanship and passion.
